System Engineer

Why Nova?

Nova Engineering Team is looking for a System Engineer (contract) to work with Design Engineers, Product Managers and Researchers to participate in the ongoing development, integration and characterization of a novel metrology solutions across several product lines. This person will be part of a highly skilled and efficient team of System Engineers with significant combined experience in instrumentation for Semiconductor production environment.

This is a contract position with possibility of conversion in six months.

Pay range: $65-82 hourly

What will you do as a Sr. Systems Engineer?

• Apply systems engineering principles to evaluate and integrate hardware, algorithms, and application workflows, ensuring cohesive system performance, including defining and managing system‑level error budgets.
• Conduct system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving, including root‑cause analysis, mitigation plans, and implementation of robust system calibration methods. Requires understanding of the process flow and key domains.
• Translate high‑level requirements into technical specifications.
• Total ownership of system concepts:
• Incorporate data acquisition and instrument control for complex system diagnostics.
• Conduct data collection and analysis to support comprehensive system evaluations.

• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Passion for technology and a strong commitment to expanding technical skills and knowledge.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering;
  Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
• Ability to handle high‑complexity assignments with minimal supervision.
• MATLAB and/or Python programming experience.
• Background in optics — advantage.
• Background in the semiconductor industry — advantage.
