The Ash Group is hiring an Embedded Engineer (Manufacturing Controls) for a global technology distributor connecting leading manufacturers of electronic components and computing solutions. This is an 8-month Onsite contract based in Fremont, CA
, offering a pay rate of $70.00 per hour.

You will play a key role in sustaining and developing advanced automation systems that assemble and validate next-generation products. This role requires strong PLC fundamentals, hands‑on debugging skills, and the ability to operate autonomously in a high‑complexity, high‑precision manufacturing environment.

• Controls Engineering Leadership:
  Lead activities across assembly and end‑of‑line validation, developing and sustaining PLC and HMI programs in Siemens TIA Portal or Beckhoff TwinCAT.
• System Integration:
  Collaborate with test and equipment engineering to integrate new test sequences, data interfaces, and product change requirements into existing automation.
• Process Optimization:
  Drive improvements using data‑driven insights—including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime analysis, and MTBF—to optimize cycle time and safety.
• Real‑Time Troubleshooting:
  Diagnose and fix PLCs, servo drives, robots, and field networks such as Ether
  
  CAT, Profinet, or CANO
  
  pen in real time to minimize production downtime.
• Safety Compliance:
  Maintain and implement safety PLC logic using SIMATIC Safety or TwinSAFE to ensure equipment uptime and operator safety compliance.

• Experience:
  
  5+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years focused on automated manufacturing or electro‑mechanical assembly systems.
• Technical Proficiency:
  Expertise in IEC 61131-3 programming languages, specifically Structured Text and Ladder Logic.
• Platform Knowledge:
  Hands‑on experience with Siemens S7 series or Beckhoff TwinCAT, including HMI/SCADA platforms like WinCC, Ignition, or TwinCAT HMI.
• Communication Standards:
  Solid understanding of OPC UA and fieldbus communications including Ether
  
  CAT, Profinet, and Device Net.
• Hardware & Motion Control:
  Strong knowledge of motion control, servo systems, conveyors, VFDs, and component selection for sensors, drives, and relays.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience).
