ECS- Position Summary
ECS is a Documentation and Change Order (ECR/ECO) specialist responsible for engineering change control process as part of PLM. Beyond generating and processing Change Orders, duties will include CAD/Specification/Drawing updates, data mining, POC for change related escalations, managing trackers, inter‑department reports and CIP activities in a high‑pace environment.
What You’ll Do- Create and maintain product options and configurations; initiate business process changes (internal and external), continuous improvement regarding Product Structure and Engineering Change with the goal of efficiency
- Lead collaboration with Materials and Spares to reduce and address E&O gaps
- Maintain the product structure and BOMs to enable effective materials management during the product lifecycle from C&F thru maturity and obsolescence (From C&F to Production Release to EOL)
- Chair/Facilitate CFT meeting with key collaborators to drive to solutions and alignment with cutin strategies, E&O and effectivities
- POC for all change control processes and strategies
- Generates and manages Change Orders (CO) thru closure
- Performs documentation research for all parts/assemblies to be included in the Engineering Change Order to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to change control policies/procedures and design drafting standards. Makes decisions, provides recommendations and/or escalates based on the needs of the situation
- Responsible POC for Engineering Change Order activities
- Interfaces with Engineers and Designers on design solutions into BOMs that align with lean manufacturing requirements
- Responsible to align key collaborators to drive to solutions in alignment with cutin strategies, E&O and effectivities
- Monitor and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and timely change cut in
- Process part numbers, bills of material and change orders which include preparation for change control board,review for clarity, errors and proper approval routing, accuracy and completeness
- Track documents from initiation to final approval
- Tracking and reporting on document review progress
- Develop, track and report key metrics
- Generate and manage documentation in support of ISO standards including revise and releases
- Update drawing from model changes.
- Support Engineering and design team on creation and updates to drawing ,spec and BOM including part number creation.
- Support Special Projects and Department Initiatives
- Support user acceptance testing and represent the Department in cross functional discussion with other organizations.
- Act as Initial escalation point for gaps and unattended risks and issues until resolved
- Ability to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Thorough understanding of system/product engineering lifecycle and challenges associated with it.
- Thorough understanding of change management and configuration management practices
- Ability to work required overtime to support manufacturing needs and requests from our customers.
