Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the hardware team to brainstorm and fast‑pace prototype new ideas and concepts.
- Work on full cycles of plan/execute/test in complex projects.
- Communicating with OEMs for design feedbacks and iterations.
- Supporting the assembly, testing, and validation of robotic prototypes and products. Instructing technicians/lab workers to optimize workload.
- Participating in design reviews and providing feedback on mechanical designs.
- Documenting design iterations, test results, and project progress.
- Investigating and troubleshooting issues of the robotics system. Develop and implement targeted solutions as well as documentation to reduce potential failures in future.
- Sharing your knowledge and skills with your teammates, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- Mentality for fast prototyping and testing.
- Previous experience of mechanical design, drawings (Solid Works), GD&T, building and integration of mechanical platforms. Robot experience is a plus. Student competition experience (Battle bot, Baja, F‑SAE, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping tools and shop equipment, including 3D printers, power tools, and hand tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet‑metal, weldment, machining.
- Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills. Mandarin language skills is preferred.
- Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and dynamic start‑up environment as part of a small team.
- Work on a full‑time schedule at our office in Fremont.
- Open for regular short onsite visits and for extended onsite visits during feature delivery.
