This role requires deep expertise in system-level architecture, high-voltage electronics, precision analog/mixed-signal design, and embedded firmware development. You will translate complex system requirements into robust, manufacturable, and testable solutions while collaborating across hardware, firmware, software, and system engineering teams.
Pay Range: $170,000- $190,000 Annually (DOE)
Role Responsibilities- Architect the electrical systems for next-generation semiconductor metrology platforms, with a focus on high-voltage power systems, integrating analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuit design.
- Lead and oversee the complete PCBA development lifecycle, including requirements, architectural concept, design, simulation, prototyping, validation, and release to manufacturing.
- Define and enforce design standards, noise budgets estimation, and validation protocols, ensuring robust performance, documentation and traceability.
- Serve as a technical authority, mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional teams through complex design challenges.
- Collaborate with senior technical leads, scientists, and stakeholders to align product development with strategic goals and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of industry experience in electrical hardware design and development
- Strong background in Analog and mixed-signal circuit design;
Digital systems and FPGA design;
Microcontroller-based system design - Deep understanding of PCBA design, layout, DFM, and DFT;
High-voltage and low-noise design techniques;
Control systems and system stability - Proficiency with Altium Designer (schematic & layout);
Circuit simulation tools (PSpice or equivalent);
Lab instrumentation (oscilloscope, signal generator, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills (FMEA preferred)
- Experience with verification, validation, and test strategy development
- Familiarity with automated test development (Python, C#)
- Embedded C programming and firmware architecture design
- Experience designing microcontroller-based systems using ARM Cortex devices, including peripheral architecture and integration (GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, ADC, DAC, comparators, PWM, timers, DMA)
- Knowledge of firmware testing methodologies, field firmware update mechanisms (e.g., bootloaders, IAP, OTA), and revision control practices
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Ownership mentality with growth mindset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional and vendor-facing environments
- Experience in semiconductor equipment or metrology systems
