Senior Electrical Engineer
The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as the technical authority for all electrical design elements of hyperscale and AI-factory data centers. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with extensive experience in high-voltage distribution, HVDC, UPS, SST, switch gear, and critical facility electrical systems. The Lead Electrical Engineer will provide stamped drawings, mentor junior engineers, and ensure designs meet all regulatory, safety, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical design for data center builds, including one-line diagrams, short-circuit/coordination studies, grounding, and arc flash.
- Provide stamped drawing sets for permitting and compliance.
- Serve as subject matter expert for HVDC distribution, SST integration, UPS systems, and busway/busduct designs.
- Mentor electrical engineers and review their work for compliance and quality.
- Interface with AHJs, utility providers, and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Support proposals and client workshops with expert-level technical input.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEC, UL, and other standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; MS preferred.
- 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction.
- Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of utility electrical distribution systems in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
- Experience in electrical infrastructure.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant fields.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations, medium- or low-voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools. - Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switch gear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/telecom, security, mechanical, architectural), and in prefabrication or modular construction.
- Understanding of start-up and commissioning processes.
Compensation for this role will depend on degree and years of experience. The base salary range is $120,000 – $180,000.
