Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for a hands‑on RF Systems Integration Engineer to design, configure, and deliver custom spectrum monitoring, direction‑finding, and communications intelligence (COMINT) systems. These mission‑critical solutions are used by defense, intelligence, and regulatory agencies worldwide. You will work at the intersection of RF engineering, electrical and mechanical integration, documentation, and real‑world deployment—delivering systems that protect forces, secure infrastructure, and manage the RF spectrum.
WhatYou’ll Do
- System Integration & Customization
:
Architect and configure complete end‑to‑end systems (rack‑based, mobile, tower, or vehicle‑mounted) based on specific customer needs. Select and integrate antennas, receivers, cables, networking gear, power systems, and environmental controls while ensuring RF compatibility and performance. - Technical Documentation
:
Produce high‑quality block diagrams, wiring diagrams, rack elevation drawings, assembly instructions, BOMs, connector/wiring specifications, test procedures, and integration manuals. Work closely with a drafter to finalize drawings. - Component Selection & Engineering
:
Research and specify off‑the‑shelf components across RF, electrical, and mechanical domains. Write statements of work for external partners (tower builders, vehicle integrators, etc.). - RF Systems Focus
:
Apply practical RF knowledge (frequency bands LF–SHF, noise figures, power levels, signal integrity) to ensure reliable integration without damaging sensitive equipment. - Cross‑Functional Collaboration
:
Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing to define requirements, improve manufacturability, and support the full product lifecycle. - Continuous Improvement
:
Drive Lean/5S initiatives and evaluate new technologies, components, and suppliers to enhance system performance and reliability.
- BSEE (MSEE preferred) with focus on RF/communications systems.
- 3–8+ years of experience integrating RF systems (ideally LF to SHF bands) — combining hardware components into functional systems.
- Strong practical understanding of RF integration: frequency planning, power budgets, noise management, and interface compatibility.
- Proven ability to create system‑level documentation (BOMs, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, procedures).
- Experience reading schematics and selecting components across electrical, mechanical, and RF domains.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (required due to nature of work).
- Hands‑on experience with custom or semi‑custom RF/hardware integration projects (defense, satellite, comms, or similar).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or MS Visio (you provide concepts/requirements; drafters handle final CAD).
- Experience with PLM/ERP systems (Agile, Oracle), ETO processes, or Lean/5S.
- Background with defense contractors or RF‑heavy environments is a plus.
