Typical day-to-day responsibilities for this Packaging Engineer role include:

• Design and develop packaging solutions for parts and assemblies, including metal/steel racks, totes, and vacuum-formed trays.
• Create and iterate CAD models, drawings, and specifications for both expendable and returnable packaging systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and program management teams to ensure packaging meets product protection, cost, and logistics requirements.
• Perform packaging validation, testing, and failure analysis; implement corrective actions and design improvements.
• Develop business cases and cost‑savings proposals related to packaging initiatives, and support supplier selection and qualification.
• Manage packaging‑related project tasks and timelines, ensuring alignment with program milestones.
• Maintain documentation, BOMs, and packaging specifications; update standards and best practices for packaging design.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce material, handling, and transportation costs while improving durability and ergonomics.
