What To Expect

Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start August 2026 or September 2026 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

The Packaging Engineering team develops and leads the implementation of cutting‑edge packaging. Interns will develop packaging needed to effectively protect and integrate with the automated material flow and manufacturing lines. Interns will also contribute to enhancing the development process and supporting tools.

• Design part packaging to interface with custom production automation equipment and material handling equipment
• Support automation equipment design as part of the project team developing new custom automation equipment
• Work with the Design Engineering team to understand part design in order to develop highly optimized packaging solutions for a wide range of parts
• Work with part suppliers and packaging suppliers to get your designs implemented

• Currently pursuing a degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• Experience working with design, development and implementation of packaging projects; preference for automotive industry or high‑speed automated lines
• PMP, PMI certificates or experience in project management is helpful for project management interns
• Solid Works, CATIA, CAD software, TOPS/CAPE, Artios
  
  CAD can all be helpful skills
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate dynamic cross‑functional projects with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and test to meet project timelines
• Proficient at‑risk management and communication
• Experience working in time‑critical and fast‑paced product development
• Strong record keeping and organizational skills necessary

$16.35 - $33.65/hour + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
