Responsibilities- Support day‑to‑day reactor operations, including test setup, sample handling, and data collection.
- Process and analyze experimental datasets using JMP and other statistical/data analysis tools.
- Contribute to preliminary process and reactor models that link operating parameters to performance outcomes.
- Develop and document structured datasets and standardized workflows to improve experimental traceability.
- Collaborate with engineers to align modeling results with reactor test plans and DOE execution.
- Deliver a capstone project focused on a defined reactor performance improvement area, with a final presentation to the team.
- Structured, well‑documented experimental datasets supporting process development.
- Preliminary models tying operating conditions to reactor performance metrics.
- Documented workflows that improve experimental traceability and reproducibility.
- A capstone project aligned with reactor performance improvement, including a final written report and team presentation.
- Currently pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Coursework or hands‑on experience with thermal‑chemical reactors or similar high‑temperature/reactive process systems.
- Strong laboratory skills, including safe handling of equipment, samples, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in data analysis using JMP (or equivalent statistical software).
- Experience with Solid Works for mechanical design and assembly review.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document workflows clearly.
- Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for up to 5 hours.
The expected base salary range for this position is between $25.00 and $32.00 per hour. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
