Job Title:
Sr. Member of Technical Staff – Engineering & Technology
Location:
Fremont, California
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Development and optimization of semiconductor products, plasma systems, and advanced process technologies
- Provide analytical leadership from concept through design validation, characterization, and production readiness
- Lead complex engineering tradeoff analysis using data-driven and first-principles approaches
- Strong fundamentals in plasma systems with deep understanding of semiconductor process chemistry and plasma physics
- Analyze process behavior, defect mechanisms, chamber interactions, and process variability to drive performance improvements
- Drive root-cause analysis and structured problem solving using experimental and statistical techniques
- Develop and interpret DOE, characterization, and process performance data to improve robustness and capability
- Chamber and subsystem design analysis including thermal, deposition, cleaning, etching, gas flow, and process uniformity optimization
- Collaborate with engineering teams, process, and technology partners for concurrent development and integration
- Drive IP innovation, experimentation, and technology development for next-generation semiconductor applications
- Serve as a technical resource for emerging technology trends, competitive analysis, and process innovation
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment, process chamber design, and process technology development
- Strong technical expertise in vacuum systems, thermal analysis, flow dynamics, reaction kinetics, and plasma-based process environments
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, or equivalent analytical platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate complex system interactions and engineering tradeoffs
- Working knowledge of industry design and compliance standards including UL, CSA, FCC, SEMI S2/S8/F47, and CE requirements
- Collaborative team player with strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Hands-on approach to laboratory experimentation, process characterization, data analysis, and technology validation
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep expertise in semiconductor process technologies including Etch, CVD, PVD, RTP, and Advanced Packaging
- Strong understanding of advanced packaging technologies, industry trends, and technology roadmaps
- Proven track record of innovation with strong intellectual property and patent development credentials
- Established customer relationships and industry engagement with key semiconductors and/or life sciences customers
Travel Information:
- Position requires 10 % travel
