Confluent is hiring! We are seeking a
** Staff Surface Process Development Engineer
** to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts to develop, optimize, and implement robust
** Surface
* * processes for Nitinol medical devices.

Responsibilities:
* Work as part of Confluent’s multifunctional Process Development Team responsible for development, optimization, and validation of medical device production processes.
* Develop robust surface processes such as microblasting, chemical etching, chemical polishing, and electropolishing.
* Work in collaboration with operators, technicians, and other engineers to deliver devices that meet customer requirements.
* Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, visual standards, and technical memorandums.
* Coordinate with the Production team for training and manufacturing support.
* Utilize six sigma and lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement of validated manufacturing processes.

Essential Qualities:
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment.
* Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Materials, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experience.
* Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
* Experience with Minitab or JMP desirable.
