Commissioning Field Specialist, HVAC

What to Expect

Tesla's Cell Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced HVAC commissioning and balancing Specialist to support the mechanical commissioning team through all phases of construction projects and optimization of existing facilities. This role specializes in the commissioning of wet & dry mechanical systems, balancing (TAB), associated controls, and envelope integrity testing. The ideal candidate will have a field intensive background in commissioning pre-functional and functional checks, TAB, retro-commissioning of existing facilities, and envelope integrity testing.

The candidate will perform TAB, functional checks and other key activities for mechanical systems. Experience performing these activities in cleanroom environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and healthcare facilities is preferred. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the mechanical commissioning lead in the planning and execution of commissioning projects to ensure deliverables are met. It requires technical MEP expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively support multiple teams.

This role has a travel expectancy of 25%.

What You'll Do

* Support planning of HVAC commissioning scopes and perform activities in all phases from design, scoping, scheduling, execution, through turnover

* Perform design, submittal, and controls system reviews

* Develop commissioning plans, checklists, balancing reports, schedule, budget, and other technical documents related to mechanical commissioning

* Perform all field activities to complete project scope

* Conduct site walks, equipment inspections, and maintain a punchlist

* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Coordinate and perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)

* Support the Operations and Commissioning teams in managing various tools such as completions management software, Management of Change, work requests and others

What You'll Bring

* 5+ years of experience performing mechanical commissioning and balancing (TAB)

* TAB certification by an accredited body (NEBB, AABC, TABB or similar)

* 5+ years of technical expertise in air handlers, fans, packaged equipment, dehumidification, chilled water plants, heating plants, heat exchangers, environmental controls, and commissioning

* Competent understanding of design drawings, submittals, P&'s, SOW's, SOO's

* Ability to use a building management system (BMS) to control equipment and diagnose operating issues

* Ability to operate personal lift devices and work at heights

* Experience working in cleanroom, biomedical research, or similar environments is preferred

Expected Compensation

$108,000 - $270,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
