Systems Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Nova Engineering Team is looking for a System Engineer to work with Design Engineers, Product Managers and Researchers to participate in the ongoing development, integration and characterization of a novel metrology solutions across several product lines. The selected person will be part of a highly skilled and efficient team of System Engineers with significant combined experience in instrumentation for Semiconductor production environment.
This position provides an opportunity to have a large impact in a rapidly growing division.
Pay Range: $130,000- $160,000 Annually (DOE)
We simply do things differently. What about you?
You’ll be joining the Material Metrology Division
:
What will you do as a Systems Engineer?
- System Engineers play a key role throughout the entire Product Life Cycle from the inception and validation of new ideas to final product release and field testing
- Our ideal candidate would be a highly motivated individual with broad experience in applied high vacuum systems for ion beam and mass spectrometry related technologies.
- The ideal candidate will lead efforts to retire technical risks in emerging technologies focused on NOVAs technology roadmap and must offer creative solutions with minimum supervision.
- The candidate must have high proficiency in hands-on work and demonstrate the ability to design, build, and use complex vacuum systems with high-end metrology equipment such as stages, gauges, cameras, lasers, detectors, spectrometers, electron beam analysis equipment, etc. The candidate must have a proven record on accomplishments in R&D.
- Propose solutions for customer problems, validate the concepts of the proposed solutions and initiate the development and implementation of these solutions
- Conduct error budget analysis, modeling, and simulation for proposed architectures
- Participates in the Design and Testing phase of the component (sub-system), ensures that the design complies with the requirements
- Own the integration of the new component or sub-system into the product and characterizes its behavior at full product performance level
- Develop procedures for and trains Manufacturing, Service and Applications in all aspects of the new component or sub-system as it relates to the complete system - assembly, calibration, testing and end-user operation.
What will make you succeed in the role?
- Problem solving skills for resolution of system level challenges at every phase of the Product Lifecycle
- Willingness to participate in field activities for new product release or challenging customer issues
- Customer management skills that build relationships with internal and external customers
- Interface with Advanced Technology group to define the product development roadmap
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry or relevant engineering field; experience in semiconductor or other instrumentation makers is preferred
- Technical expertise in design and simulation of ion-optics, ion columns, or SIMS
- Lead effort to build, run and maintain experimental systems, prototype, and beta systems.
- Design and incorporate metrology equipment (cameras, detectors, etc..) and vacuum hardware.
- Resolve technical problems in development, and maintenance of research Hardware/Equipment
- Must be able to balance independent work, accountability, and ownership of complex problems with teamwork, collaboration, and sense of joint purpose.
- Drive for high quality work product with focus on the Customer’s problem at hand and understanding of timeline, budget and other practical constraints
- Educated and experienced in general scientific thinking and approach to problem solving. He / She has consistent, logical and analytical approach to solving problems with good reasoning skills.
