About Neuralink

We are creating devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world.

Team Description

As part of the Surgery & Robot Hardware, the Robot Manufacturing Team is responsible for producing and scaling the precisely engineered robotic systems and custom hardware that enable our life-changing surgical procedures. Balancing immediate production needs with long‑term scalability, we drive manufacturing innovation to ensure the safety, reliability, and high‑quality execution of every surgical implant.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Robot Manufacturing Intern will contribute directly to the production and scaling of Neuralink's advanced surgical robotic systems. This role provides hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑precision manufacturing environment, focusing on developing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the quality and reliability of critical hardware used in our surgical procedures.

  • Manufacturing Process Support: Assist the team in the assembly, testing, and documentation of robotic components and systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing manufacturing workflows to increase throughput, reduce errors, and enhance product quality.
  • Documentation and Control: Help create and maintain detailed manufacturing work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with quality systems.
  • Tooling and Fixture Design: Work on the design and fabrication of jigs, fixtures, and production aids to streamline assembly and inspection tasks.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform in‑process quality checks and contribute to failure analysis and root‑cause investigations for non‑conforming materials or devices.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on manufacturing data to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support data‑driven decisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely‑related engineering field.
  • Demonstrated passion and aptitude for hands‑on technical work, manufacturing, or robotics, evidenced by relevant coursework, technical clubs, or personal projects.
  • Strong foundational understanding of physics and mathematics relevant to engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to be highly detail‑oriented and organized in a high‑precision environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating clear documentation and collaborating with a technical team.
  • Must be able to commit to a full‑time intern schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or lab environment related to robotics or high‑precision assembly.
  • Proficiency with Solid Works or similar CAD software for designing production aids and tooling.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., medical device, ISO 13485) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation.
