Full Time Flexible Hours (e.g., 40 Hours/Week)

Kollabra Consulting Inc., a small but dynamic company with approximately 7 employees specializing in mechanical engineering, product design, and automation solutions, is seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer. This flexible position (part-time or contract) offers the ability to work independently from home or hybrid, with hours tailored to project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and precision mechanisms using Solid Works, including detailed 3D modeling, drawings, and GD&T.
  • Select and apply appropriate materials, fasteners, and manufacturing processes for robust, cost-effective designs.
  • Support product development projects involving automation, custom machinery, and precision engineering.
  • Perform design reviews, tolerance analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on prototyping and testing.
  • Assist with project documentation, vendor coordination, and iterative improvements based on testing and feedback.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works is required
    , with strong skills in 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanisms, materials selection, and fasteners.
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment, precision mechanisms, or automation systems is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset and comfort wearing multiple hats in a small-team environment.
