What to Expect

Tesla'sIn-house cathode team isseeking an energetic and engaging lab Technician for our Pilot production line. You will exercise your exceptional skills to conduct experiments,sample characterization,and develop test rigs for specific powder tests.

This candidate will be a core member ofthe

Cathode

Pilotteam thatfocuseson thesynthesis and testing ofcathode materials to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

• Spearhead metrology development related to cathode physical and electrochemical performance
• Design and build novel test rigs and equipment to support process development
• Decrease development cycle time from trial ideation through trial conclusion via efficient design of experiment (DOE) and improved metrology techniques
• Troubleshootingexistingequipment and software
• General characterization of powder materials: samplepreparationfor microscopy, particle and powderdensity, particle size analysis, powder flowability, etc.
• Document data in the centralized database with the use of test procedures and process documents
• Bring new ideas to increase productivity, reduce cost,and minimize waste

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent in experience
• At least 1-2 years of hands-on and analytical (university or commercial) experience in disciplines related to: materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, analytical, mechanical engineering
• Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience using statistical software, such as JMP or Minitab
• Must be able to demonstrate meticulous organizational and data management skills
• Must have a strong sense of safety and be able to work independently or with others
• Experience with analytical techniques common to particle and powder characterization is preferred - examples: particle size analyzer, powder flowability tester, compressibility, permeability of powders, etc.

• Stand for long periods, lift upto 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in varying temperatures and environments
• Comfortable with wearing a powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) for extended periods of time
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and kneel as needed

$24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
