Summary

The primary responsibilities include providing customer engineering support for wafer prober systems and general technical assistance across divisions. This role focuses on maintaining optimal performance of precision semiconductor testing equipment through expert troubleshooting and customer collaboration.

  • Install, repair, and maintain wafer prober systems and related peripherals
  • Perform periodical maintenance (PM) and calibration procedures
  • Conduct basic-to-intermediate repairs while maintaining clear customer communication regarding service status
  • Identify and document recurring technical issues using standardized reporting formats (NERs/Bug Reports)
  • Analyze customer application requirements and coordinate with application engineering teams
  • Monitor industry trends in semiconductor testing equipment and strategies
  • Complete detailed Field Service Reports (FSRs) with root cause analysis
  • Investigate enhancement opportunities through customer workflow observations
  • Travel domestically/internationally for installations, repairs, and training
  • Provide technical guidance to customers through on-site/remote support
Working Hours

8:00-17:00 (flexibility required for customer emergencies)

Working Location

Fremont, CA (regional travel required)

Compensation

$32-38/hr + performance-based bonus

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or related technical field + 2 years' prober experience
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (BSME/BSEE) + semiconductor equipment experience
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with precision machinery
  • Advanced mathematical proficiency for equipment calibration
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and engineering diagrams
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy equipment

Preferred:

  • Certification in wafer prober operation/maintenance
  • Military veterans with precision equipment maintenance experience
  • Experience with prober systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and remote diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of semiconductor testing protocols and wafer probing methodologies
  • Familiarity with IoT-enabled equipment diagnostics (emerging requirement)
