Location:
Onsite in Fremont, CA office.
- Responsible for optical design of EDFA, Raman, integrated optical module and circuit pack, ROADM subsystems for telecom and DCI applications.
- Lead optical design and design validation, troubleshooting. Work with global multi‑site resources for full product development and NPI cycle as well as flawless production launching in offshore manufacturing sites.
- Work with marketing team and PLM on optical amplifier, ROADM product RFP/RFQ response, specification negotiation, and customer technical support.
- Define optical component specifications to be used in the products.
- Develop and maintain optical calibration and testing bed for full characterization of optical components and modules performance measurement.
- Provide technical support for field operations, including issue investigation, log analysis, and resolution of optical network problems.
- Domestic and international travel is expected.
- Bachelor's Degree in Optical, Photonics, Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least 5 years of optical design experience, or PhD in Optical, Photonics, EE or Physics with previous internship experience.
- Knowledge of Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA), Raman, and other optical amplifier technologies.
- Knowledge of optical testing engineering, data analysis, process development, and quality tools.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability/reliability.
- Experience in fiber optical module and circuit pack manufacturing process (fiber routing and splicing, optical/mechanical/electrical integration assembly, etc.).
- Advanced degree highly desired.
- Experience in optical amplifier (EDFA, Raman, etc.) design, modelling and testing.
- Experience in optical DWDM transmission system design and modelling.
Compensation:
We anticipate paying $140,000 - $200,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
