Field Application Engineer; Data Center Products

My client is a leader in the high-speed I/O (HSIO) and data center test equipment market. We specialize in high-speed test fixtures and test equipment that enable the continued evolution of cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies. This Field Application Engineer position is based in Fremont, California, with primary responsibility for supporting Silicon Valley customers in adopting, deploying, and debugging high-speed test equipment across a wide range of applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with their semiconductor and system testing strategies and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Install, configure, and debug test systems at both the hardware and software levels.
• Help customers maximize the use of hardware and software test solutions.
• Collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams to address customer-specific technical needs.
• Gather market intelligence and identify potential customer opportunities for the sales team.
• Communicate customer feedback and new product ideas to engineering and product management.
• Provide on-site customer support as needed; some travel is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
• Academic emphasis in Electronics and/or Telecommunications required.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux and C++ preferred.
• Experience with high-speed test equipment such as BERTs and oscilloscopes preferred.
• Experience developing control software for electrical test equipment preferred.
• Experience with high-speed Ethernet, PCIe, and USB PHY technologies preferred.
• Experience using standard electrical test equipment, including multimeters, benchtop power supplies, and soldering stations preferred.
• Three or more years of relevant industry experience required.
