A leading advanced manufacturing technology company is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation industrial capital equipment. This is a high-impact technical leadership role focused on complex electromechanical systems, precision mechanisms, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will drive mechanical system development from concept through production, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and manufacturable products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems for advanced capital equipment.
- Define mechanical architecture and perform GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design analyses.
- Lead system integration, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
- Drive continuous improvements in product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Own engineering documentation including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Process, and Quality Engineering teams throughout product development.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and manage projects from concept through production.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience developing industrial capital equipment.
- Experience in semiconductor, automation, robotics, precision manufacturing, CNC, biomedical, advanced process equipment, or similar industries.
- Strong expertise in precision mechanical design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficiency with Solid Works (PDM preferred) and experience with FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis.
- Hands-on experience building, integrating, testing, and validating complex electromechanical systems.
- Strong systems-level thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with precision manufacturing equipment or complex industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with FMEA and engineering risk analysis.
