Position SummaryWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and components within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role combines mechanical design with laboratory-based experimentation, requiring experience in chemical laboratory practices, surface preparation, analytical testing, and statistical analysis to improve product performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience working in laboratory environments, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems, components, and equipment for new product development and engineering improvements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, laboratory testing, and validation activities for new and modified designs.
- Support prototype development, design verification, and engineering documentation.
- Perform laboratory work involving chemical processes, surface preparation, and analytical evaluation of materials and components.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to analyze process performance and optimize designs.
- Interpret test results, identify root causes, and recommend design or process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and test summaries.
- Manage multiple engineering assignments while meeting project schedules and priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory or materials testing environment.
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods and analytical testing techniques.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting product development, laboratory testing, or manufacturing engineering.
- Familiarity with materials characterization, process improvement, or reliability testing.
- Experience working in highly regulated, manufacturing, or technology-driven environments.
