The Field Service Engineer is a pivotal role within the Global Service team, dedicated to supporting Hithium’s rapid expansion in the Americas. This role supports a growing portfolio of 10GWh+ BESS projects, managing the full lifecycle from initial commissioning through long-term maintenance under Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA).

As the primary on-site technical expert and customer-facing lead, you will ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery and the reliable operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lifecycle Project Leadership: Serve as the on-site technical expert and primary customer point of contact for BESS projects.
• On-Site Project Execution: Lead the end-to-end on-site execution of system installations, commissioning, and maintenance, ensuring high-quality delivery and on-time completion through seamless coordination with internal teams and customers.
• System Troubleshooting and Repairs: Lead the diagnosis and repair of electrical and communication system faults, implementing effective solutions to maintain optimal BESS performance and minimize downtime.
• Stakeholder Communication: Provide comprehensive technical and project management updates to customers and internal teams to ensure total project alignment.
• Internal Coordination: Drive collaboration across Technical, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure on-time project delivery and develop aligned solutions for field issues.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and PPE standards while managing third-party vendor technicians to maintain safe working environments at all Hithium sites.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with a proven track record in commissioning, troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems, including high-voltage systems, inverters, transformers, BESS, power electronics, and SCADA systems.

Education: A degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Others:

• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation in English.
• Professional-level verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, frequently to remote or challenging locations such as deserts or high-altitude sites.
• Physical Conditions: Ability to independently and safely perform technical work in harsh outdoor environments while strictly adhering to safety and PPE standards.
