Position: Program/Project Manager 3

The impact you’ll make

As a Project Manager at Lam, you will play a pivotal role in driving projects/programs for Global Workplace Solutions business group. You’ll be at the forefront of project initiation through delivery, using your expertise to coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure project are completed on time and within budget.

This role requires the selected candidate to be work onsite 5 days per week.

What you’ll do
  • Plans facilities changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations
  • Manages the EOR completion of design drawings and leads the design reviews (point of connection of pipe, electricity, exhaust, specialty gas, chemical supply equipment, etc.).
  • Prepares and solicits bid packages and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
  • Reviews and estimates design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Participates in tool and facilities infrastructure installation design reviews, ensuring outsourced design firms design to established Lam protocols and expectations
  • Assists in the startup of gas systems and process equipment to reach process qualification on new process modules.
  • Drives cost reduction on projects through competitive bidding, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Aligns and reports weekly with the Lab Ops customers.
  • Presents in the SIPP, ITP review, and ETS meetings associated with tool installations and facilities projects
  • Manages all documentation and the permitting process with EHS, Lab Ops, consultants, and the city.
  • Coordinates city inspections for Hazmat and Fire inspections.
What you’ll do (continued)
  • Oversees the successful completion of gas tool installations and gas facilities infrastructure projects.
  • Manages relevant stakeholders, sets deadlines, communicates with project owners/company executives about the state of the project, ensures projects stay on track and on budget, and adjusts if necessary to meet new requirements.
  • Identifies and resolves project challenges, ensuring projects stay on track. Identifies and removes obstacles. Leads teams to solve complex problems.
  • Supports the site team, general contractor, and coordinates a team of consultant Project Managers for gas projects and manages multiple projects at the same time.
  • Runs change management for projects and programs and supports proper project closure.
  • Manages Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Change Orders with contractors and Lam Legal for project work.
  • Ensures execution, manages risks, assures adherence to program or project schedules, and performance to meet business requirements.
  • Manages project scope, schedule, spend forecast, invoice approvals, risk, quality, and resources.
Who we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Related work experience in Facilities Construction Project Management, or Project/Construction Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a team or supervising project managers.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to exchange information with senior management, service providers, workers, and contractors.
  • Understands all aspects and phases of the architectural, MEP design, and construction management process.
  • Working knowledge of SAP for use with purchase requisitions and orders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Role may require travel to other Lam Research facilities.
  • Willingness to be proactive and take ownership of requests; prioritize workload and schedule to meet deadlines accordingly.
  • Ability to adapt to change when necessary.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to present financial data.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and utilize data for decision support.
