Lab Service Engineer
Required
Skills & Experience:
- Semiconductor equipment experience.
- Strong hardware and mechanical troubleshooting background.
- Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments and wearing cleanroom PPE.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to support preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and calibration activities.
Nice to Have
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
- Associate's degree in a technical field with 2+ years of related experience.
- Equivalent military technical training.
- Vacuum systems experience and vacuum leak-checking knowledge.
- Mechanical, electro-mechanical, or semiconductor equipment maintenance background.

Job Description:
The Lab Service Engineer will support Lam Research's Applications Lab by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and calibration on semiconductor equipment. This individual will work closely with Process Development, Hardware Engineering, and Software Engineering teams supporting R&D activities, prototype tool development, and customer demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and system-level issues.
- Support R&D activities, prototype equipment installations, and engineering projects.
- Assist with customer demonstrations and engineering lab operations.
- Develop procedures and technical documentation to support prototype systems.
- Work safely with hazardous materials using required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
- Support equipment upgrades, calibrations, and system performance verification.
- Provide field and customer support as needed.
Train Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and Process Engineers when required.
