Senior Mechanical Engineer
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and cross-functional collaboration to support product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and innovation. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced engineering knowledge, contributes to strategic initiatives, and drives continuous improvement across processes and products.
• Lead the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components from concept through production.
• Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex technical problems and improve product performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure effective implementation of designs.
• Maintain a solid understanding of key plant processes at primary manufacturing locations and incorporate this knowledge into engineering solutions.
• Evaluate and select materials, processes, and technologies to meet product and operational requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for product or process issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost-efficiency, and production reliability.
• Support testing, validation, and documentation of mechanical designs.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property, technical standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME etc.) and best practices.
• Develop core knowledge that advances the company's position within the industry, including emerging technologies and methods.
• Review P&IDs, equipment layouts, utility drawings, and mechanical drawings.
• Support facility expansions, renovations, capital projects, utility tie-ins, shutdown planning, and commissioning activities.

Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 11+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree (MS) in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience
• Thorough engineering and application knowledge across mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience in chemical, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing facility environments preferred.
• Hands-on experience with plant utilities including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, exhaust, scrubbers/ventilation, and process piping is a plus.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and plant operations
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production or industrial setting
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and influence outcomes
• Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Solid Works, FEA, AutoCAD, simulation tools)
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of GD&T, Machining Tolerances & Tooling (e.g. Lathe, CNC etc.)

This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
