Junior Financial Analyst
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Financial Analyst to support the Finance team with financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business insights. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and help support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and Excel skills, a solid understanding of financial concepts, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of financial reports, analyses, and presentations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end reporting and variance analysis.
- Maintain and update financial models, forecasts, and reporting tools.
- Track key financial and business performance metrics.
- Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data.
- Research and explain variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
- Support the preparation of management presentations and business reviews.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and properly documented.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant financial analysis, finance, accounting, or internship experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic financial modeling.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting.
- Familiarity with financial modeling and variance analysis.
- Experience with ERP, financial planning, or reporting systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Adaptive, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong interest in developing a career in corporate finance or FP&A.
