Shift Type: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, skilled occupational therapy assistance to support patients in regaining independence with activities of daily living
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate therapy goals and patient-centered outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home-safety strategies
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to facility policies and infection control practices
Qualifications
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
  • Current or eligible for California state COTA licensure or registration
  • Active BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
  • Experience working with diverse adult patient populations in inpatient or rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered mindset
Education
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field
  • COTA certification (NBCOT) or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in therapeutic activities, ADL retraining, and use of adaptive equipment
  • Knowledge of activity analysis and task adaptation to meet functional goals
  • Ability to follow and implement treatment plans set by supervising OTs
  • Proficient in clinical documentation and outcome measurement
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coaching patients, families, and caregivers
  • Understanding of infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA privacy standards
  • Good time management and caseload prioritization abilities
  • Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
