Registered Dietitian - Eating Disorder​/Clinical - Per Diem

Responsibilities

The Registered Dietitian – EDO/Clinical works with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives.

• Develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines.
• Manage resources in a cost‑effective manner.
• Participate in performance improvement efforts.
• Maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient in the Adolescent Eating Disorders Program for inpatient level of care.
• Complete nutritional assessments and develop and monitor meal plans.
• Provide patient, group, and family nutritional education.
• Cross‑train with clinical dietitian staff and cover clinical responsibilities when needed.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods, and nutrition, or related area from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
• Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and a supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) months dietary experience in a health care facility.
• Experience working with eating disorders patients is strongly preferred; education in the field may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Licensure:

• Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association; certification/licensure as required by state of practice.

Additional Requirements:

• CPR with AED (CPR/AED) certification current and presented to Human Resources upon hire.
• Completion of Fremont Hospital’s non‑violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures.
