For over 40 years, Chrisp Company has been installing high quality highway improvement products throughout California. We are growing and looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Fremont, California.

Summary

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Manager by coordinating daily HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee support. This position also plays an active role in HR projects, process improvements, and the continued development of the Human Resources department.

Shift
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Flexible) Overtime as necessary
  • This is not a "Hybrid" or "Remote" position
Recruitment
  • Post job openings on job boards, social media, and internal platforms.
  • Screen resumes and job applications.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist with background checks, reference checks, offer letters, and recruiting events.
Onboarding & Training
  • Assist with new hire packets, onboarding schedules, and orientation coordination.
  • Confirm workstations, computer logins, email addresses, and other onboarding needs are set up.
  • Support new hire training schedules and training program logistics.
  • Ensure ETP rosters and required training documentation are completed and submitted.
Employee Relations
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all employee interactions.
  • Document employee complaints or concerns and elevate them to the HR Manager.
  • Complete exit interviews and share feedback trends with the HR Manager.
  • Coordinate employee recognition activities and assist with employee questions.
Administration
  • Assist with HR data collection, organization, reporting, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide support to employees with BambooHR-related questions and system navigation.
  • Track employee reviews, 90-day reviews, and survey completion.
  • Stay informed on employment law updates and HR best practices.
HR Projects & Department Development
  • Assist the HR Manager with HR projects and department growth initiatives.
  • Research HR best practices, tools, vendors, and recruiting strategies.
  • Help create HR resources, guides, presentations, and training materials.
  • Support new HR programs, systems, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Minimum

    Education Required:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum Experience

    Required:

    1 year in related, Human Resources or Administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with BambooHR is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to work successfully with multiple team members.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Meticulous Attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Sense of urgency in completing projects.
