About Our ClientOur client is a growing healthcare organization providing specialized services across multiple locations in California and Colorado. With approximately 200 employees, the organization is continuing to strengthen its internal infrastructure and is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader to oversee and further develop its HR function.
This is an opportunity for a hands‑on HR leader who enjoys both building strong people practices and managing the day‑to‑day complexities of a multi‑location, regulated organization.
SummaryOur client is seeking aSenior Human Resources Managerto lead its internal Human Resources function and serve as the primary HR advisor to organizational leadership, managers, and employees.
Reporting directly to senior leadership and supervising an HR Generalist, this position will have broad responsibility for employee relations, employment compliance, HR operations, policies and procedures, HR systems, payroll and benefits oversight, recruiting, leaves of absence, performance management, and employee development.
The ideal candidate combines strong HR leadership and judgment with a willingness to remain hands‑on. This role will be particularly well suited for someone who has led HR within a growing organization and is comfortable developing structure, improving processes, and managing complex employee matters.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the organization's Human Resources function and provide guidance to senior leadership, managers, and employees.
- Manage and advise on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, corrective actions, workplace conduct, attendance issues, investigations, and other sensitive employment matters.
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with applicable federal, California, Colorado, and local employment requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, workflows, documentation, and internal controls.
- Supervise, develop, and provide day‑to‑day direction to the Human Resources Generalist.
- Oversee HR systems, employee data, personnel records, and processes for tracking required licenses, credentials, certifications, and training.
- Oversee recruiting, pre‑employment, onboarding, offboarding, and related employment processes.
- Partner with leadership and hiring managers on workforce planning, staffing needs, organizational changes, and retention.
- Provide HR oversight of payroll and benefits administration and work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Oversee employee leave and accommodation processes, including documentation, communication, tracking, and coordination with third‑party providers.
- Support compensation analysis, job evaluation, salary administration, and internal equity reviews.
- Oversee performance management and required employment and compliance training.
- Partner with outside employment counsel and other advisors on complex employment matters when appropriate.
- Manage relationships with HR‑related vendors and identify opportunities to improve HR technology, processes, and service delivery.
- Support employee engagement, management development, accountability, and a professional workplace culture.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant responsibility for employee relations, employment compliance, and HR operations.
- Experience leading an HR function or serving in a senior HR Manager or HR Business Partner capacity strongly preferred.
