This position is expected to start August 2026 or September 2026 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full‑time (40 hours per week) and on‑site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full‑time positions, not internships.
The Team
You will be part of a Supply Chain Data Analytics team as a point of contact for reporting, analytics, and insight generation for the global Supply Chain organization. You should have strong technical skills, a collaborative style of working, and a proactive and critical mindset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to synthesize complex issues and drive desired outcomes.
Tesla is a fast‑moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes. The successful candidate is a self‑starter with a passion for data analytics, data engineering, and continuously demonstrates an ability to tackle complex problems and implement solutions.
As a member of the analytics team, you will be required to translate business questions into insightful and action‑biased analytics. You will also help with our database management and ETL development work. Your work will have a direct impact on Tesla’s Supply Chain.

- Create and/or enhance action‑driven dashboards (e.g., using Tableau).
- Optimize current Tableau dashboard queries so they consume fewer server resources and result in faster load time for end‑users.
- Search for better server/database alternatives and rewrite equivalent queries.
- Perform ongoing checks of internal dashboards to keep them up to date.
- Support ad‑hoc data, SQL query, analysis, and debugging requests from cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Create and maintain internal dashboard documentation and define key metrics to track success or prioritize features.
- Implement and maintain automated processes for seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Communicate with stakeholders and gather business requirements.
- Work on standardization of our dashboards (including building tutorials and ensuring proper documentation).
- Translate requirements of large data initiatives into smaller actionable items.
- Champion data literacy within the organization and drive adoption rates.
- Collaborate with training experts to develop user‑training materials for dashboards.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database systems.
- Comfort with a scripting language (e.g., Python) and dashboard data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel).
- A good understanding of relational databases and database engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and a workflow management tool (e.g., Airflow) is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to collaborate cross‑functionally with other business and engineering teams, while able to work independently.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, execution‑focused, relentless, and willing to find cracks in the system to expose problems.
- Previous experience in data analysis, product/project management on software applications, or supply chain purchasing/industrial engineering experience.
