Data Permissions Analyst - Net App & Varonis

Overview:

As our Net App environment continues to grow, we've identified a need to streamline and secure data access. Currently, permissions have been granted to broader groups than necessary, creating potential security and compliance risks. We are seeking a dedicated resource with expertise in Varonis and Active Directory (AD) security groups to lead a permissions clean-up initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit existing permissions across Net App file shares using Varonis.
Identify over-permissioned data and recommend appropriate access controls.
Collaborate with business users to understand data access needs.
Modify AD security groups and file share permissions to align with least privilege principles.
Document changes and maintain clear records for compliance and future audits.
Provide training or guidance to users on proper data access practices.
Work closely with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Data Governance teams.

Required

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience with Varonis Data Security Platform
.
Strong understanding of Active Directory
, security groups
, and file system permissions
.
Experience working in Net App environments
.
Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in Varonis, Microsoft, or related technologies.
Experience with scripting (Power Shell) for automation of permission changes.
Background in IT security or data governance.
