Reports To:

Director of Data Governance and Master Archivist

Job Summary

The PLM and ERP Data and System Specialist would assist in PLM governance and data quality across Nextracker’s enterprise systems. This role includes drafting and designing functions of part numbering architecture, defining scalable practices, and representing our PLM team as an SME within key initiatives involving Product Lifecycle Management. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with hands‑on experience in PLM system configuration, data integrity management, and governance execution.

This subject‑matter expert will lead the implementation, configuration, and support of PLM and ERP systems, ensuring seamless integration between them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end PLM/ERP implementation projects, including process mapping, solution design, configuration, and deployment.
  • Understand and develop requirements for the Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams, while navigating the overall needs to make‑to‑quote, make‑to‑sell, and make‑to‑deliver.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements, translating them into scalable system solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration between PLM and ERP systems, managing data flows and defining product data governance processes. Export and import data, build mapping, and conduct UAT and data migration resolution.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for PLM and ERP, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Develop and maintain key solution artifacts such as functional design documents, process flow diagrams, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Analyze and improve PLM‑related business processes across engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments.
  • Manage project timelines, expectations, and communication, escalating issues as needed.
  • Draft and maintain part‑numbering schema architecture and documentation, define attribute ownership, and maintain data integrity across Arena PLM and connected systems.
  • Create dashboards and reports to identify discrepancies, gaps, and misaligned data. Support integration efforts for newly acquired products and develop playbooks and procedures for data integration.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, IT, and Supply Chain teams to align data models and lifecycle management rules.
  • Map attribute data and values between systems, implement requirements, and manage integration mapping.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in PLM and ERP integration, system deployment, and launch.
  • Deep knowledge of part numbering, product data structures, and change‑control workflows.
  • Hands‑on administrative experience with Arena PLM or Oracle ERP.
  • Strong skills in data reconciliation, reporting (Excel, Power BI, or Tableau), and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team‑driven initiatives.
  • Expert knowledge of Arena/PLM architecture, best standards, and understanding of Engineering Data usage.
  • Expert knowledge of ERP architecture such as Oracle and Net Suite.
  • Experience with M&A activities and their impact on data and systems.
