Windows Server, Systems Administrator, IT Support, Systems Engineer
IPS team serves as a Tier-2 technical support for virtualized Windows Server infrastructure. Managing over 1000 VMs, they cooperate with T1 support and other engineering teams to improve availability and functionality of Windows Server infrastructure, and provide engineering work to automate and improve deployment of new VMs.
Candidates for this position will have a good understanding of how Windows Server machines work in a corporate environments, will have advanced problem solving skills and will be able to communicate well within the team and with external parties (other support teams and the customer).
Responsibilities:- Operations:
- Architecting and administering production environment in all versions of Windows Server thru 2025 in accordance with best practices
- Deploying and configuring Windows Server-based operating systems in the data center
- Resolving customer tickets related to installation / configuration requests as well as technical issues
- Troubleshoot performance issues
- Perform analyses of competing technologies and products, suggest improvements in the current landscape
- Perform technical analyses, system designs and system development to improve the technical landscape
- Create, modify and review documentation
- Participate in other projects together with Client engineers, take ownership of these projects or tasks therein
- 5+ years of experience in IT support roles (any Tier) for Windows Server-based systems, including end-user support
- Experience in deploying servers in a virtualized environment
- Bash is a requirement
- Linux troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Familiarity with VMWare
- Practical knowledge of Windows features such as: IIS, KMS, RDS, WSUS, File Services
- Familiarity with tools like Chef, Chocolatey and other configuration management packages
- Practical knowledge of Power Shell
- Experience with troubleshooting Windows Server performance
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with remote contact with the Client being the predominant contact method
- Fluent English - both written and spoken
- Microsoft certification is a plus
Pay range is $60 - $65 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
