Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Business Manager to drive supplier performance, delivery execution, and operational excellence across multiple strategic commodity categories, including Heaters, Pumps, Linear Motion Components, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Products, and Distribution Suppliers.
This role is responsible for improving supplier on-time delivery performance, mitigating supply risks, supporting capacity planning, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across a global supplier network. The successful candidate will partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, planning, and operations teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and support business growth in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage supplier relationships and operational performance across Heaters, Pumps, Linear Motion, COTS, and Distribution commodity categories.
- Drive supplier on-time delivery (OTD) performance and develop recovery plans for material shortages, capacity constraints, and supply disruptions.
- Establish supplier performance metrics, monitor results, and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop inventory management strategies, including JIT, Kanban, Min/Max, and replenishment programs.
- Support material planning activities by monitoring supply requirements and ensuring suppliers can meet forecasted demand.
- Partner with engineering and suppliers to resolve technical, manufacturing, and supply chain challenges impacting delivery performance.
- Analyze supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to improve continuity of supply and operational resilience.
- Monitor supplier cost performance and support cost reduction initiatives while minimizing negative purchase price variance (PPV).
- Drive supplier manufacturing process improvements to improve quality, capacity, efficiency, and delivery performance.
- Develop presentations, dashboards, reports, process maps, and executive summaries to support operational reviews and strategic initiatives.
- Represent supplier business management within cross-functional teams focused on supply chain performance and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business objectives, product launches, and operational priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, supplier management, commodity management, procurement, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience managing suppliers within industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, mechanical, or capital equipment environments.
- Strong supplier relationship management and performance improvement experience.
- Proven ability to solve complex operational and supply chain challenges.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Index-Match, dashboards, reporting, and data analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
- Experience managing commodities such as pumps, electromechanical assemblies, motion control systems, industrial components, OEM parts, or distribution channels.
- Experience supporting semiconductor, capital equipment, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
- Knowledge of supplier capacity planning, inventory optimization, and supply chain risk management.
- Experience leading supplier operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within global supplier networks and matrix organizations.
