The impact you’ll makeLam Research’s Sr. Manager, NPI (New Product Introduction) Materials manages a team of Technical Program Managers and Project Managers through all stages of product development from R&D to volume manufacturing transition, ensuring PDR (Product Development and Release) deliverables are completed with high quality and within programs timeline.
What you’ll do- Accountable for establishing a materials supply chain meeting performance, cost, quality, capacity, and on-time delivery requirements of Lam Research products.
- Act as point of contact for all escalations from Product group to Supply Chain, liaison between Engineering Product management and Supply Chain functional organization.
- Work in a cross-functional team environment within a matrix organization with internal customers, including high level executives.
- Select, develop, and retain an inclusive team with a strong bias for achievement, agility, confidence in managing risk in a dynamic environment, and systemic approach to problem solving.
- Influence product design by applying expertise in manufacturability, test, supply chain, and cost.
- Manage and lead team to close material shortages and enable new part introduction for Pilot builds.
- Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
- Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs, creates and delivers presentations to program executives and CFT stakeholders.
- Fundamental understanding of should-cost or cost allocation and recognize opportunities to improve product design for cost/quality/delivery by early supplier involvement.
- Additional skills required for success in this role include leadership skills, strategic thinking, attention to detail for everyday tactical execution, and excellent people and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
- Eight (8) years of operations management experience in the semiconductor, automotive or heavy machinery with proven leadership of cross-functional teams on highly complex projects.
- Expertise in MS Excel, MS Power Point.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods and commodities as related to cost structure.
- Supply chain knowledge, especially for critical commodities as related to sourcing decisions and cost strategies.
