The impact you’ll makeAt Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.
What you’ll do- Develop, align, and implement commodity strategy.
- Understand the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces.
- Negotiate, manage, and maintain supplier agreements that provide optimal terms.
- Direct new supplier engagement and/or disengagement requirements to the Lam supply base.
- Collaborate across the Lam organization to ensure business objectives are met.
- Identify potential supply issues and communicate findings to senior leaders.
- Drive resolution of systemic supply chain issues affecting cost, delivery, quality, service, and development support.
- Optimize supply chain/supplier performance through cost, capacity scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization, including executive level.
- Influence skills: experienced communicator with the ability to communicate critial thinking ideas and concepts.
- Capable of developing and delivering compelling arguments and presentations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and business processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field listed herein (but not limited to) the following:
Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, with 12 years of related experience; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or 5 years and a PhD; or equivalent experience. - 12 years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment. Preferably in the Semiconductor industry.
- Ability to understand Power Supply technical documents (i.e., specifications/schematics/drawings) and function within semiconductor manufacturing tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence necessary to achieve the desired objective deliverables.
