We are seeking a Junior Buyer in our Fremont, CA location.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support procurement and supply chain activities for our electronic and manufacturing operations. In this temp-to-hire role, you will assist in purchasing materials, tracking production requirements, and maintaining accurate data to support overall cost and delivery performance. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in supply chain management while gaining hands-on exposure to PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) and electronic components under the mentorship of senior procurement staff.
This position will require working onsite to start to facilitate hands-on training and seamless integration with our manufacturing teams.
- Purchase Order Management:
Issue and manage purchase orders for materials, electronic components, and services to support production schedules. - Order Tracking & Expediting:
Monitor material readiness, track shipments, and actively work to resolve material shortages or delivery delays. - Supplier Coordination:
Support and maintain daily communication with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distributors to ensure supply continuity. - Data & ERP Maintenance:
Maintain highly accurate purchasing data, lead times, and pricing records within ERP/MRP systems. - Cross-Functional Support:
Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to track material availability for production and new product introductions. - Inventory Support:
Assist with inventory management initiatives, including tracking excess and obsolete material reduction. - Sourcing Assistance:
Provide administrative support for supplier sourcing, initial qualification gathering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred. - Experience:
0–2 years of purchasing, supply chain, or internship experience in a manufacturing or technical environment. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity or exposure to ERP/MRP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Core Competencies:
Excellent organizational, analytical, and foundational problem-solving skills. - Adaptability:
Ability to manage multiple administrative priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Communication:
Excellent verbal, written, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Basic exposure to or knowledge of electronic components, PCBAs, or contract manufacturing.
- General understanding of core manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Desire to work toward APICS/ASCM certification in the future.
