Job Summary
Responsible for planning, directing, and executing global Supply Chain strategies, initiatives, policies, and objectives to optimize manufacturing performance, material availability, resource utilization, and fulfillment of customer requirements within a regulated environment. Provides oversight of all material planning and control functions, including procurement planning, inventory management, production planning, warehouse operations (shipping, receiving, and stores), and end-to-end material flow. Ensures the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliant material control systems, policies, and procedures aligned with ISO 13485, GMP, and applicable regulatory standards.
Ensures materials are sourced, ordered, and available to support manufacturing and commercial requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels and working capital targets. Lead the development of material requirements planning, long-range capacity and supply planning, with cross-functional coordination to ensure efficient material flow and production readiness.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the global supply chain strategy, objectives, and policies, ensuring full alignment with corporate growth plans and strict compliance with GMP and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Serve as functional head for procurement, planning, warehouse operations, logistics, secondary packaging, and distribution
- Establish, implement, and maintain purchasing controls compliant with ISO 13485 and applicable GMP regulations
- Negotiate and maintain Supply Agreements and Quality Agreements with suppliers
- Lead global supply risk management and business continuity planning
- Drive supply chain scalability to support commercialization and expansion
- Develop and manage the forecasting, ordering, and production planning processes to ensure on-time delivery of clinical and commercial products
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or integrated business planning processes;
Oversee and ensure compliant Warehouse operations and materials management and storage, including inventory control and counting - Develop and implement supplier selection, qualification, and management processes, including supplier metrics (KPIs) and reporting for periodic business reviews
- Lead the integration of the commercial supply chain strategy and product development plans
- Establish governance structures, SOPs, and accountability frameworks, including key functional metrics for cost, quality, and customer service
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Finance teams
- Provide leadership and management for the function, develop, staff, and mentor the team, fostering a culture of teamwork, high performance, continuous improvement and personal development
Skills required
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to interact internally and externally with executive-level management
- Ability to translate and communicate organizational objectives to departmental goals and action plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams working within a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, evaluation, and interpretation skills in both business and operations areas
- Entrepreneurial and hands‑on, comfortable in small company and possesses the ability to multi‑task and set priorities
- Project management, networking, and partnership management skills
- Hands‑on knowledge of ERP system implementation
- Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Quality System Regulations (QSR)
Education and experience
- BS/BA in Business Management or technical degree
- 8+ years of progressive supply chain, or relevant discipline, leadership experience in relevant with a minimum of 5 years in a commercial GMP environment
- Start‑up and commercialization of novel technology‑based products
- Proven leadership in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and integrated business planning processes.
- Strong financial acumen, risk management capability, and executive presence.
- Experience/Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Potentially prolonged periods standing
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be willing to travel
