Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
The Project Manager manages manufacturing projects of moderate complexity, taking ownership of project execution. This role operates with minimal supervision, drives cross-functional coordination, and ensures project commitments related to quality, schedule, and delivery are met. In addition to executing assigned projects, Project Managers provide guidance and day-to-day coaching to entry-level Project Managers and Project Coordinators, helping build team capability and execution consistency.
The Program Management (PM) team plays a critical role in overseeing manufacturing projects from initial launch through mass production and final shipment. Functioning as a Manufacturing Program Management (MPM) organization, the team works closely with headquarters Sales, R&D, Quality, and Engineering teams to estimate resources, manage schedules, and align execution with customer requirements. The PM team coordinates cross-functional activities, balances customer commitments with internal efficiency, and adapts plans as conditions change.
By serving as a key bridge between customers, headquarters, and manufacturing functions, the team supports timely execution and successful product delivery.
- Manage one or more manufacturing projects independently, owning schedules, execution plans, and day-to-day coordination.
- Review material readiness, production output, and logistics status; coordinate adjustments as needed to maintain delivery commitments.
- Develop detailed project timelines based on customer requirements, material availability, and production capacity.
- Coordinate proactively with Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Test, Production, Supply Chain, and other teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Monitor project progress against plan, identify risks and constraints, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead routine project meetings, drive action-item closure, and ensure accountability across stakeholders.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring timely and accurate communication with internal stakeholders.
- Support projects as assigned, adapting execution approach based on project phase and complexity.
- Prepare and present clear, data-driven project status reports, risk assessments, and recovery plans to Program Managers.
- Mentor and coach Level 1 Project Managers and Project Coordinators by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and providing execution guidance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, templates, and execution standards
- Proven ability to manage manufacturing projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to make sound judgments and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across cross-functional and multi-level stakeholders.
- Ability to identify risks early, prioritize issues, and drive resolution in dynamic environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess trade-offs and impacts.
- Coaching and mentoring skills to support the development of junior team members.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with evolving priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in project management, manufacturing operations, supply chain, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with increasing scope and complexity.
