Job Summary

As a District General Manager
, you will lead a multi‑account territory and provide strategic direction to cross‑functional teams. You will ensure operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and strong client relationships while supporting a positive culture across the district.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor District Operations Managers, Operations Service Managers, Client Service Managers, Warehouse Managers, and their teams.
  • Drive coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Provide tools, resources, and systems that enable team success.
Client & Community Engagement
  • Serve as the primary representative and brand ambassador for the territory.
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure performance goals related to profitability, safety, and service are met.
  • Attend client and community events to support engagement and visibility.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple accounts, balancing risk, performance, and long‑term strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with regional, state, and local regulations affecting meal programs, retail operations, safety, and QA.
  • Conduct operational audits and implement corrective actions and improvements.
  • Utilize operational insights—supported by DSD knowledge where applicable—to improve product flow, vendor coordination, replenishment accuracy, and inventory consistency across accounts.
Strategic Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales, Retention, and Finance on proposals, proformas, renewals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders to share best practices, identify risks, and support diversity and inclusion goals.
Financial Accountability
  • Own P&L performance for all accounts within the district.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required reports.
Culture & Compliance
  • Support senior leadership in developing a strong, inclusive, and engaging culture.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree OR five (5) years of progressive multi‑unit leadership experience in food service, hospitality, plant operations, environmental services, laundry, or other support service sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct Store Delivery (DSD) experience
    , including familiarity with route operations, vendor relationships, replenishment processes, and merchandising standards. DSD knowledge enhances operational oversight and improves inventory accuracy, product movement, and vendor coordination.
  • Leadership experience in contract management, budgeting, customer service, and people development.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business with strong financial and operational acumen.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Professional, flexible, resilient, and committed to inclusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Extensive travel required.
