- Animal Services Division is recruiting for the position of Animal Services Manager.

The Fremont Police Department Animal Services Unit is responsible for protecting public health and safety while promoting responsible pet ownership and compassionate animal care throughout the community. The Tri-City Animal Shelter serves the Cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City and provides sheltering, adoption, licensing, field services, investigations, and community education programs.

The Animal Services Manager serves as the operational leader of the Animal Services Unit and Tri-City Animal Shelter, overseeing staff, programs, contracts, and services that support both animals and residents across the Tri-City area.

Under general direction, the Animal Services Manager plans, organizes, and supervises the activities of the Animal Services Unit, including shelter operations, licensing, investigations, enforcement activities, public education initiatives, and contract administration.

Responsibilities include managing the Tri-City Animal Shelter, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, overseeing veterinary and sheltering services, supervising field and shelter operations, supporting staff development, managing contracts and budgets, and representing the Animal Services Unit with community stakeholders, partner agencies, and elected officials as appropriate.
