Maintenance Manager

Position Overview A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead all maintenance, engineering, asset reliability, and facility improvement initiatives within a high-volume production environment. This individual will provide strategic leadership to maintenance and engineering teams while working closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, and Supply Chain leaders to improve equipment performance, maximize uptime, and support overall business objectives.

The role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing plant reliability programs, capital projects, maintenance personnel, and continuous improvement efforts while fostering a culture centered on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Lead maintenance, reliability, and engineering functions to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Develop and enhance preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime and reduce operational costs.

Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities while optimizing labor utilization, spare parts inventory, and departmental resources.

Drive equipment reliability initiatives through failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions.

Utilize Lean, Continuous Improvement, TPM, and reliability-focused methodologies to increase asset effectiveness and reduce waste.

Manage maintenance budgets, forecasting activities, capital expenditure planning, and departmental performance metrics.

Develop business cases and execution strategies for capital improvements and facility investments.

Provide leadership to maintenance supervisors, planners, engineers, technicians, and storeroom personnel.

Support employee development, succession planning, performance management, and workforce engagement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, engineering, and maintenance-related regulations and standards.

Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, risk reduction programs, and corrective action initiatives.

Lead capital and infrastructure projects from planning and design through installation, startup, and commissioning.

Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution with minimal production disruption.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.

Support sustainability, waste reduction, recycling, and environmental compliance initiatives.

Maintain and improve work instructions, operating procedures, safety documentation, and maintenance standards.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
8+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial operations, heavy industry, or process manufacturing environments.

Proven experience managing maintenance, reliability, engineering, and capital project activities.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, and automated production systems.

Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment and leading structured root cause analysis efforts.

Familiarity with ERP/CMMS platforms used for maintenance planning, inventory control, work management, and asset tracking.

Demonstrated success managing budgets, capital projects, and maintenance performance metrics.

Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, safety management systems, environmental regulations, and manufacturing best practices.

Prior leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams, engineers, planners, and technical personnel.
