We are seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Test Engineer to develop, deploy, and sustain PCBA test solutions in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment. This is a customer-facing role responsible for owning multiple projects concurrently—supporting new product introduction (NPI), production ramp, and high-volume manufacturing—while ensuring test coverage, repeatability, throughput, and quality. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing ICT and functional tests, troubleshooting complex electromechanical test fixtures, and communicating clearly with internal teams and customers.
BasicQualifications
- 5+ years of experience in an EMS test environment supporting PCBA manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and related engineering documentation (BOMs, assembly drawings, test point maps).
- Strong troubleshooting and RCA discipline: structured problem solving, data-driven conclusions, corrective/preventive actions.
- Has capability to preform circuit analysis in both AC and DC designs.
- Experience with common electronic measurement and debug tools (DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, logic analyzer) and manufacturing test methodologies (boundary scan, programming, verification).
- Experience writing ICT tests on Keysight i3070
, Genrad/Teradyne
, or TRI platform - Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for test development, automation, and tool creation.
- Functional test development experience using NI LabVIEW and/or NI Test Stand
. - Familiarity with test fixture concepts and best practices (pogo-pin design considerations, probe maintenance, mechanical alignment, ESD controls).
- Develop, implement, and maintain In-Circuit Test (ICT) and functional test strategies for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) in an EMS manufacturing environment.
- Create and debug ICT test programs on one or more of the following platforms:
Keysight i3070, Genrad/Teradyne, TRI
. - Develop and support functional test sequences using NI LabVIEW and/or NI Test Stand
, including instrument control, automation, and data collection. - Debug and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for test failures across:
- Test fixtures (probe issues, wiring, relays, pneumatics, sensors, mechanical alignment)
- PCBA hardware (opens/shorts, component issues, power rails, digital/analog failures)
- Test software (limits, timing, sequencing, measurement methods, false failures)
- Own test-related deliverables across multiple simultaneous customer programs: schedules, action logs, risk/issue tracking, and clear status reporting.
- Create and maintain documentation: test plans, coverage reports, setup instructions, calibration/verification procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support customer meetings, onsite/remote debug sessions, and production readiness reviews; represent the test organization professionally and effectively.
