Position Summary

The Team Leader will be a subject matter expert in production operations, with a working knowledge of all job classifications within the department or work area. The Team Leader must keep the supervisor informed of the status of various operations, fill in during a Team Leader’s absence, and be required to perform any job classification within the department including relief on other rated jobs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all line functions within 160 days of taking the position.
  • Perform SAP/SAM/MES production data entry and Pillar activities.
  • Understand and operate machines in assigned area to sustain line performance at Nestlé standards.
  • Understand maintenance principles and perform basic maintenance tasks on shift, managing trouble‑shooting.
  • Train and coach production operators to ensure operational competency in operating equipment.
  • Transfer technical competency and basic maintenance skills to production operators.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and/or department.
  • Act as a leader on the floor, train and coach employees, and promote shift effort to maintain product quality, department efficiency, and a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
  • Support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) as part of the job responsibility within the business unit or factory and be responsible for implementation throughout the department.
  • Participate and lead problem‑solving (GSTD/IR/DMAIC, etc.) and attend operational reviews.
  • Ensure safe work instructions are available for all positions; processes run in accordance with SOPs, SOPPs and other documentation.
  • Ensure employees have required safety training; equipment and installations are well maintained with safety guards and devices, and associates use appropriate PPE.
  • Communicate and accomplish environmental impacts in accordance with environmental management systems.
Requirements and

Minimum Education Level
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Computer or other technical knowledge required to perform transactions, reports, and information on a computer.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or manufacturing setting preferred.
Skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses/certificates.
  • Working knowledge of NCE and TPM working principles and advocacy of TPM systems and tools.
