Volt is immediately hiring for Sr. TIG Welder in Fremont, California
As a Sr. TIG Welder you will:
- Perform advanced GTAW (TIG) welding on low carbon and stainless-steel components used in high precision containers.
- Ensure weld integrity by supporting helium leak testing for high vacuum and high-pressure applications.
- Operate shop equipment such as band saws, metal shears, grinders, cut-off saws, sanding tools, and manual mills.
- Guide and mentor junior welders on welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment usage.
- Build and modify tooling and fixtures to support production and new process development.
- Maintain inventory levels of welding consumables and recommend required tools/equipment.
- Provide basic maintenance and repair support for production equipment.
- Support vacuum systems, including maintenance for bake-out ovens.
This is a full time, contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience with GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless and low carbon steel.
- Hands-on experience with common fabrication and machining tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience working in environments requiring leak testing or vacuum systems.
- Experience in high vacuum or high-pressure manufacturing environments.
- Background supporting production equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with tooling fabrication and process improvement.
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
* Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
