The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California’s Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. Supporting diverse technology sectors including semiconductor, telecommunications, and medical equipment, the Fremont facility offers a wide array of services including sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting and clean room assembly.
JobPurpose
The Assembly Lead is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical parts using a variety of assembly equipment, fixtures, and test equipment.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities- Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Supervisor.
- Positions, aligns, and adjusts parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Assembles parts or units, and positions, aligns, and fastens units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
- Connects cables, tubes, and wiring according to specifications.
- Measures parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
- Follows detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to correctly assemble mechanical parts and tools.
- Performs manual assembly and visual inspection of mechanical parts.
- Reads blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assemble sequences of electromechanical units.
- Disassembles units to replace parts or to prepare them for shipping.
- Files, laps, and buffs parts and subassemblies using grease paddles or oil cans.
- Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, and spot-faces bolt holes in parts, using drill press or portable power drills.
- Follows and provides feedback on assembly instructions and/or blueprints to install items such as hardware, wiring harnesses, panels, components, sub-assemblies, etc.
- Attaches name plates and marks identifying information on parts.
- Operates small cranes to transport or position large parts.
- High School or College courses.
- 4+ years experience as a lead assembler.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
- Verbal communication skills.
- Ability to observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company.
- Ability to perform repetitive work requiring strong dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

Salary Range (annual)$49,920 – $58,240 ($24.00 – $28.00 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
