Founding Machinist — 5-Axis Cnc

We are a precision machining company built for the quality tier aerospace and defense demand, operated with the rigor that mission-critical hardware requires. We run top-tier 5-axis platforms and we are building a production floor designed to take parts from concept to delivery at a pace and standard the defense industrial base needs more of.

We are looking for the person who builds that floor with us. This is the zero-to-one role. There is no program to inherit, no setup sheet to follow. You will qualify our equipment, take the first cuts, and build everything around them — the fixtures, the processes, the quality system, the knowledge base the company runs on. The standard you set is the standard.

• Lead equipment qualification, acceptance testing, and first-cut validation on our 5-axis platform
• Program complex parts from CAD models and formal GD&T drawings using modern CAM
• Design fixturing and work holding built for repeatable, high-uptime production
• Run and optimize first-article and production jobs in aluminum, titanium, and aerospace-grade alloys
• Own feeds, speeds, and tool-life strategy — and write the knowledge base this company runs on
• Help stand up our AS9100- and DCMA-ready quality system
• Evaluate and qualify tooling, work holding, and probing as we build out operations
• Set the culture of the floor and mentor the team that follows

• 5+ years of CNC machining with real hands-on 5-axis programming and setup
• Strong CAM (Mastercam, hyperMILL, Fusion 360, or similar) and fluency reading complex GD&T
• A bias for action — if you see a problem, you move to solve it
• The ability to own a manufacturing project from start to finish, with or without a playbook
• Experience in or a serious drive toward aerospace, defense, or regulated high-precision work
• U.S. person status as defined by ITAR (see below)

• Experience on high-end 5-axis platforms (Matsuura, Makino, or similar)
• Titanium, Inconel, or exotic alloy experience
• Exposure to AS9100 / ISO 9001 or DCMA-inspected environments
• A genuine interest in automation and data-driven manufacturing
• Military service, or experience in a veteran-owned or mission-driven company

• Real authority over tooling, equipment, and process decisions from day one
• A direct path to shop foreman and operations leadership as we grow
• The opportunity to build a shop's core capability from the ground up

The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000 – $200,000 per year
. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, certifications, and demonstrated capability.
