Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Manufacturing Assembler is responsible for the physical assembly, integration, and preliminary testing of complex electro-mechanical systems. This role operates directly on the production floor, executing builds strictly according to engineering drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate combines hands‑on mechanical and electrical skills with strong technical troubleshooting abilities, quality inspection practices, and clear feedback to engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Mechanical & Electrical Assembly:
Build complex sub-assemblies and full systems using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and specialized precision equipment. - Wiring & Cabling:
Perform point-to-point wire routing, crimping, soldering, and terminating of electrical cables and wire harnesses according to specifications. - Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation:
Accurately read and follow engineering drawings, mechanical CAD prints, electrical schematics, and wire routing diagrams. - Process Adherence & Redlining:
Follow established assembly guides and SOPs. Identify build discrepancies or process issues and report redlines to engineering for updates. - Quality Inspection & First-Article Support:
Perform visual inspections and use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters) to verify that first‑article builds and regular production runs meet strict mechanical and electrical tolerances. - BOM Verification & Inventory:
Verify part numbers and quantities against the Bill of Materials (BOM) prior to assembly; log and elevate any missing parts or discrepancies. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with manufacturing and design engineers to troubleshoot build issues and provide feedback on assembly ease and cycle times.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is preferred. - Experience:
3+ years of hands‑on experience in electro‑mechanical assembly, precision manufacturing, or system integration.
- Strong proficiency with standard hand/power tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment.
